Project Manager Construction
Do you possess organizational talent and construction knowledge? Do you also enjoy working on technological developments and sustainability? That is possible with us at an excellent salary, independence in the function and sufficient opportunities to work from home. We are looking for you, because to strengthen our team we are looking for a new colleague:

Your job
As an all-round project manager you manage both large and small construction, maintenance and infrastructure projects using your construction expertise. You do this by 'at a distance but with knowledge'; including by using consultants.

Your duties and responsibilities
You are responsible for optimal execution of integral construction, renovation and maintenance projects on the buildings and campus grounds of the WUR. The projects have a strong construction component and sometimes an infra component. Often they are also multidisciplinary. For example, (re)building a research shed or lab/education building, installing a bike path on campus, remodeling a lab or replacing a roof. You ensure that these are carried out within the preconditions of money, time and quality.
The most important aspects here are:

  • Reporting in a timely and complete manner to the section head BHM and/or the steering committee of the project concerned;
  • You will liaise with external consultants and, if necessary, external project leaders. Of course you will remain in charge and responsible. You also ensure coordination with the knowledge units, BHM specialists and other project stakeholders;
  • You ensure good contract formation with consultants and contractors/installers in consultation with the purchasing department;
  • You ensure supervision of safety, prevention of nuisance and site layout;
  • You are involved as an internal advisor/sparring partner in the planning, advising and guidance around shell maintenance.

You are driven, eager, an organizer, stress resistant and a team player with an open attitude. You are also a go-getter and can easily keep an overview, even when there are many different stakeholder interests involved.
What do we like to see in you?

  • At least a completed technical college or university degree in architecture;
