Register at ORCID
The ORCID iD is a unique identifier that distinguishes you and your work from other researchers and their work. ORCID compiles publication data from other profiles, such as Mendeley and the Scopus Author ID. ORCID lets you create a complete overview of your scientific career.
IDs on search platforms
Each scientific search platform has its own system to link publications to a specific author. The following instructions show you how to create author IDs and associated profiles. You can also use these IDs to calculate your h-index.
Scholarly social networks
Three popular free scholarly networks are ResearchGate, Academia.edu and Mendeley. All three networks allow you to create lists of your articles, to network with other users, to find statistics on profile and article views, to search for jobs and to share PDFs of your work.
