Your job

Are you the connecting link that our chair group needs for support? Do you have a hands-on mentality and would you like to work on the most sustainable campus in the world? If so, keep reading and apply quickly!

The Soil Chemistry (SOC) chair group is looking for an independent management/office assistant to provide administrative support for the secretariat.

As a management/office assistant, you will play an active role in administrative and organizational tasks, such as correspondence, agenda management, preparing and organizing meetings, arranging travel bookings, assisting with procedures for international employees joining the chair group, welcoming new staff members, assisting the chair holder, supporting lecturers with organizational tasks for their courses, and handling orders.

You are independent, proactive, organizationally aware, and precise. You communicate clearly and effectively (both verbally and in writing) in Dutch and English. We are looking for a team player who can easily switch between programs, maintain an overview, structure tasks, and is not afraid to take initiative. Additionally, you contribute ideas for internal communication and help optimize internal processes. In short, you are the central figure in the chair group and the first point of contact for employees, students, and external contacts. If you enjoy communicating with people and bringing order to processes, there is plenty of room for your own input.

You will work closely with colleagues who handle financial support and with SOC management.

What do you bring?

  • A service-oriented and connecting attitude
  • Strong communication skills, integrity, and flexibility
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Experience within a university setting is a plus
In our international working environment, communication is increasingly in English. For this role, a B1 level in English and a B2 level in Dutch are required.
