Cite and refer to images and figures with EndNote
Did you know that you should reference any images, graphs, or other figures that you re-use in your work? This also applies to photographs and figures you find on free-to-pick websites. EndNote has a feature to store images and figures and create references and in-text citations.
If you have images, graphs, charts or table you’d like to reuse in your paper, you first need to save them on your computer. However, simply saving the picture is not enough. You also need to record the image’s original source and copyright information. This is too much information to save in the title of the image on your computer. Recording this information is a challenge but necessary.
EndNote is a well-known tool that helps you organise your literature and cite and refer to sources in your texts. EndNote also offers the possibility to add figures, graphs, pictures, or charts to your references.
We have created a guide to help you use this function. In the guide you can read more about how to add a figure to a reference in EndNote, how to insert the figure in your Word document and how to create an entry in your reference list for your image.
