ABG thesis track for students MSc Animal Sciences (MAS)
Students of the MSc Animal Sciences (MAS) can choose a thesis track at ABG.
Specialisation A - Genetics and Biodiversity
For this thesis track students are required to complete at least two of the following courses, followed by a major thesis at ABG:
- Genetic Improvement of Livestock (6 ECTS)
- Genomics (6 ECTS)
- Modern Statistics for the Life Sciences (6 ECTS)
- Population and Quantitative Genetics (6 ECTS)
Check the Osiris course catalogue of your MSc programme and/or ask your study advisor about the other programme requirements for this specialisation.
Specialisation E - Molecule, Cell and Organ functioning
For this thesis track students are required to complete the following courses, followed by a major thesis at ABG:
- Genomics (6 ECTS)
- Modern Statistics for the Life Sciences (6 ECTS)
In addition, students are required to do either an internship or a research practice. Check the Osiris course catalogue of your MSc programme and/or ask your study advisor about the other programme requirements for this specialisation.

Research practice or internship
Students of the MSc Animal Sciences (MAS) are welcome to do a research practice or internship at ABG. Depending on the subject and your background, different courses are recommended. Please contact Pascal Duenk for more information about the ABG topics. We also recommend you to contact your study advisor for information on how to fit this into your personal study plan.
