As an HR Advisor/HR Business Partner, you will engage with current HR priorities in a rapidly changing, dynamic, and informal work environment where no two days are the same. You will have the opportunity to make a difference, take the lead, and seek improvements for managers, employees, and the organization within the Animal Sciences Group in Wageningen. Your Role As an HR Business Partner, you will contribute to maintaining and enhancing a healthy, inspiring, and safe work environment where everyone can thrive. You will take the lead and show ownership of assigned HR topics, engaging with various levels of the organization. You will also participate in university-wide HR initiatives and collaborate closely with specialists from the HR Centre of Expertise (CoE) in areas such as Recruitment, Vitality & Health, and Learning & Development.
Within the Wageningen Bioveterinary Research (WBVR, Lelystad), you and your colleagues will handle HR challenges and take up HR themes.
Your tasks and responsibilities include:
- acting as a sparring partner and advisor for managers on organizational development and team dynamics;
- shaping the HR agenda and being (co-)responsible for the successful implementation of HR policies;
- playing an active role in developing and executing strategic workforce plans and addressing organizational challenges;
- contributing to the development of an agile organization where employees can grow and excel;
- ensuring appropriate, high-quality HR services for your organizational unit.
You will collaborate with a driven HR team consisting of six HR Business Partners and about 13 people, including HR Support and CoE colleagues. The HR team is spread across locations in IJmuiden, Lelystad, and Wageningen. Collaboration is a core value of our HR team. Together, we address current issues such as staff and organizational development, team and leadership development, labor market challenges, social safety, hybrid working, vitality, and career development, including attracting and retaining talented colleagues.
Your Workplace
You will work for the Animal Sciences Group units in Lelystad. Additionally, as an HR team, we tackle broader issues across the entire Animal Sciences Group together.
The Animal Sciences Group (ASG) at Wageningen University & Research (WUR) comprises Wageningen Livestock Research, Wageningen Bioveterinary Research, Wageningen Marine Research, and the Department of Animal Sciences at Wageningen University. The group's core activities include scientific and applied research, academic education, and the development of animal production systems and innovations. ASG operates in a broad field ranging from wildlife and production animals to aquaculture and fisheries, from animal nutrition to management, and from disease control to food safety.
Your qualities
You are curious and proactive, enabling you to stay well-informed and provide timely, relevant advice. Your advisory skills, empathy, and persuasive abilities allow you to gain support and drive change effectively.
Additionally, you possess:
- a completed relevant higher professional (HBO) or academic (WO) education;
- extensive experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Advisor;
- experience in a complex project organization (preferred);
- strong command of both Dutch and English.
