Your job

Join Wageningen University & Research (WUR)! Globally recognized as the leading institution in Healthy Food and Living Environment. Additionally, WUR has been voted the best university in the Netherlands for 20 consecutive years. And we are proud of that!

The mission of WUR is "To explore the potential of nature to improve the quality of life."
We achieve this through research and our regular master's and bachelor's programmes, as well as courses for professionals from the business and public sectors (Continuing Education). Our portfolio includes around 100 courses ranging from a 2-day masterclass to a 2-year MBA.
In the coming years, WUR aims to grow in the market for professional education. To facilitate this growth, we are looking for a hands on and commercially-minded Content Marketer.

Your Challenge

  • You will determine the content strategy, in collaboration with campaign marketers and subject matter experts. This involves diving into the customer journey, identifying the USPs of our programmes, and creating a content plan.
  • Most importantly, you will convert this content plan into assets that drive brand awareness and conversions, ranging from emails, social posts, and infographics to testimonials and interviews. You will actively seek inspiration and information both within and outside the organization. You are our “content hunter”.
  • You will ensure optimal distribution of your content to the target audience through online (email, social, search, affiliates) and offline (trade magazines, events) channels, in collaboration with the campaign marketers and advertising specialist.
  • You will monitor and analyze the results of your content campaigns and continuously improve them.
  • You will provide both solicited and unsolicited advice on how to improve the content marketing of Continuing Education!

Your qualities

  • You have at least a bachelor's degree and 5 years of hands-on experience in content marketing for a highly educated audience, preferably in a commercial setting.
  • You are full of ideas about content marketing and its application.
  • You know how to gather the right input from the right people to create the best content. You are naturally proactive and assertive in this regard.
  • You can clearly explain complex academic concepts to the target audience and translate them into all types of content.
  • Working data-driven is second nature to you. You use data to improve your content campaigns and increase conversions.
  • You excel in project management and can handle deadlines effectively.
  • You have excellent command of Dutch and English, along with proficiency in content creation tools such as Canva.
In our international working environment there is an increasing amount of communication in English. For this position it is about language level C1 in English and C2 in Dutch.

You will work here
You will work in team Continuing Education Marketing, part of Corporate Communications & Marketing.

We offer you

Wageningen University & Research offers excellent terms of employment. A few highlights from our Collective Labour Agreement include:

  • working hours that can be discussed and arranged so that they allow for the best possible work-life balance;
  • sabbatical leave, study leave, and partially paid parental leave;
  • there is a strong focus on vitality and you can make use of the sports facilities available on campus for a small fee;
  • a fixed year-end bonus of 8,3%;
  • excellent pension scheme.
In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between € 3,234 and € 5,273 for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 10). Additionally, a contract for 32 hours can be discussed. As for your contract, we initially offer a one-year contract that can be extended - if possible within (company) organizational circumstances - on good performance.
Wageningen University & Research offers plenty of opportunities for growth and development, with a strong internal recruitment policy and excellent training programmes.

You will work on the greenest and most innovative campus in the Netherlands, in an international and open working environment. For 20 consecutive years, we have been voted the "best university" in the Netherlands! A place to be proud of.

Coming from abroad
Wageningen University & Research is the university and research centre for life sciences. The themes we deal with are relevant to everyone around the world and Wageningen, therefore, has a large international community and a lot to offer to international employees.

Because we expect you to work and live in the Netherlands our team of advisors on Dutch immigration procedures will help you with the visa application procedures for yourself and, if applicable, for your family. If you come with a partner, we offer a Dual Career group program organized by our Welcome Center. This program helps your partner to get familiar with the Dutch culture, labour market and assists your partner to find a job.

Feeling welcome also has everything to do with being well informed. Wageningen University & Research's International Community page contains practical information about what we can do to support international employees coming to Wageningen. Furthermore, our Welcome Center can assist you with any additional advice and information about for example housing, opening a bank account or schooling.
