Research themes

At KTI we study, support, and intervene in transformation processes, with a specific focus on the role of technology and innovation in relation to society. In doing so we address questions of in- and exclusion of people as well as different forms of knowledge in these processes. Much of our work is transdisciplinary – we involve a range of stakeholders – as well as interdisciplinary; we work across and between different academic disciplines. We do this through action-oriented research in which we combine studying with doing, using a reflexive and critical attitude. This means that we also reflect continuously on our own role as researchers.

The book 'The politics of knowledge in inclusive development and innovation' has been written by KTI staff, and provides concrete examples and case studies of KTI research. The book is widely used in KTI education.
