Research of the Business Management & Organisation Group
BMO studies how businesses contribute to a change towards sustainability at organisation, industry, and supply chain network levels, producing valuable and relevant knowledge further informing societal transitions. Our research makes substantial contributions to understanding and managing the rapidly developing international chains and networks, with a special focus on innovation, governance and sustainability. In the societal change to sustainability, entrepreneurs play a key role. We concentrate on the life sciences, and the agri-food industry in particular, with an aim to improve the quality of life. We thus focus on agrifood, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries in particular.

Strategic positioning and organisation in supply chains

Our research aims to understand the challenges and opportunities that arise when entire ecosystems change and how organisations can navigate these changes successfully.
-
Managing innovation for sustainability
Innovation plays a crucial role in driving business transitions, and it is essential for firms to adapt and embrace new and untraditional sources of knowledge. Our research aims to understand how firms cope with the challenges of managing innovation and how they can stay ahead in a rapidly changing landscape.
-
Optimising organisational agility
Transitions in business environments create both opportunities and uncertainties, requiring firms to be nimble, flexible, and resilient. Our research aims to understand where and how firms can enhance their internal agility to effectively navigate these transitions.
