Objectives
The Wageningen Seed Science Centre (WSSC) is committed to bridging fundamental research and applied practices in seed science, technology, and education at both national and international levels.
As a premier center within Wageningen University & Research, WSSC addresses the pressing challenge of ensuring food security in the face of climate change and the need for resilient agricultural systems.
By collaborating with universities, research institutes, NGOs, and public and private stakeholders in the seed industry—including the Netherlands General Inspection Service for Agricultural Seeds and Seed Potatoes (NAK) and the Netherlands Inspection Service for Horticulture (Naktuinbouw)—WSSC aims to translate fundamental scientific insights into practical solutions that enhance food production and promote sustainable resource management.
