Education at the Meteorology and Air Quality Group
As a university group we are responsible for the education in subjects of Meteorology and Air Quality. We are involved in a number of BSc and MSc programmes.
Theses
The MSc thesis (36 credits) is an important component in every MSc programme. You can do an MAQ MSc thesis in the following MSc programmes:
- Earth and Environment (specialisation Meteorology and Air Quality)
- Environmental Sciences
- Climate Studies (specialisations The Physical Climate and Biogeochemical Cycles)
Besides these, you can include a minor thesis (e.g. 24 credits) on an MAQ topic if you are in another MSc programme (provided you meet the requirements).
Both for your own planning, and that of your supervisor, you are advised to start your search for a thesis topic well before your expected starting data (2-3 months ahead). Please contact our thesis coordinator for information on the procedure. Furthermore, the coordinator may help you to find an appropriate topic and supervisor.

Internships
MAQ provides internship opportunities (24 credits) for the following MSc programmes:
- Earth and Environment (specialisation Meteorology and Air Quality)
- Environmental Sciences
- Climate Studies (specialisations The Physical Climate and Biogeochemical Cycles)
Keep in mind that the organisation of your internship (in particular when abroad) takes quite some time. Therefore, you are advised to start your search for an internship well before your expected starting data (2-4 months). Please contact our internship coordinator for information on the opportunities.

Courses
In the list below we distinguish BSc courses and MSc courses, althought a strict distinction does not exist. Some of the BSc courses courses (level 2 and 3) are part of MSc programmes as well, or can be used as free choice courses in an MSc programme.
