Thesis Topics: Master thesis students are warmly invited to contact me for the following (or related) topics: 

- Governance Failures: how do local governments/civic initiatives fail (and revive) to reach desired outcomes?
- Smart shrinkage/challenged rurality's: How can (or cannot - see above) rural areas future-proof, and adapt to challenges such as population change, changing landscape demands (for agriculture or energy production), in smart, adaptive and socially sustainable ways?
- Community-led planning: How do local communities govern their living environment, in relation to other more formal forms of governance?
