Our values
Sustainable business operations
Climate, biodiversity and circularity are important, overarching themes in WUR’s operations. WUR carefully considers the social impact of all decisions that are made in these areas.
Diversity and inclusion
Wageningen University & Research (WUR) is striving for an inclusive campus. A university and employer where talent is allowed to grow and flourish. Where differences are allowed, with the common goal of "To explore the potential of nature and to improve the quality of life".
Integrity
Within Wageningen University & Research (WUR), everyone is expected to act with integrity. The Wageningen University & Research Integrity Code and the Netherlands Code of Conduct on Scientific Integrity are leading in this respect. In addition, WUR has drawn up an anti-corruption code for employees involved in international projects. This code provides rules for doing business in a fair and ethical manner with countries that have a low corruption index (CPI) or countries to which UN sanctions policies apply.
Social safety
Social safety is the highest priority at WUR. By looking out for each other, we help to create a pleasant and safe work and study environment at WUR. Together we stand for a positive work and study environment where we treat each other with respect, and employees, PhD candidates and students feel confident enough to develop their talents to the full. It is therefore essential that we are able to call each other to account and point out when things are not going well. And that we can get help and advice about this.
Independent research: Finding Answers Together
Scientific integrity and responsibility are central in Wageningen University & Research’s (WUR) research and partnerships.
Dealing with polarisation
Scientists don't do opinions, but they are often put in a corner that way. WUR helps researchers recognise polarisation dynamics. What is wise to do when the outside world gets hold of your research, when elements are named in an unsubstantiated way or even exploited for improper purposes?
