Wageningen University & Research finds it important that students feel at home at WUR and in Wageningen. In the new team ‘studentlife’, we are working from various perspectives to create this ‘sense of ‘belonging’. The new 'Student Life and Wellbeing' team (working title) consists of 9 staffmembers who focus on organising trainings and masterclasses aimed at improving mental wellbeing, peer-to-peer support, activities around inclusion & diversity, and theme weeks (One World Week, Surf Your Stress). The team also organises the Annual Introduction Days and a special welcome week for international students. Additionally, the team is involved in policies concerning studenlife and social safety. The team maintains close contact with all student organisations within WUR. Moreover, they collaborate within the WUR with the policy department, the programme directors and study advisors, student deans, student psychologists, and external parties such as the Municipality of Wageningen and student housing provider Idealis.The studentpsychologists, part of Student Service Centre,  help students with personal problems that can lead to study delay, or with study-related health problems.

This position involves the following:
As the teamlead of the new team ‘student life and student wellbeing’ (working title), you ensure cohesion within the new team. This cohesion involves not only the collaboration between the individual team members, but also both the connection between the various activities that the team organises. We are looking for a teamlead who thinks along, provides frameworks and space, and sets priorities together with the team. At the same time, you ensure clarity about tasks and responsibilities and you manage resources and fte as efficiently as possible. You also play a role in the connection between this new team and the other teams within the Student Service Centre and with the broader WUR organisation. The team is visible not only individually but also as a collective within WUR. Team members can rely on each other, even during challenging times. As the team lead, you participate in the meetings with other teamleads of the Student Service Centre. You report to the head of the Student Service Centre.  

About us
The new team is part of the Student Service Centre (SSC) of WUR. Student Service Centre consists of 8 teams: Admission, Studentregistration, International Office, Exchange, Studentdeans, Studentpsychologists, Student Career Services and this new team. All staff members of the new are already working at SSC, but not as team.

Your qualities

  • You have demonstrable affinity with (international) students and a clear vision regarding student life and student well-being.
  • You are familiar with working in an academic environment. Preferably, you have a strong network within WUR.
  • You are an experienced coach and you have worked with teams within a changing environment. 
  • You have good command of the Dutch and English language.

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. We offer a contract for 28-32 hours a week for a period of one year, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between € 5,441.- and € 6,986.- for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 12).
