Dr.ir. Jaap Keijer 2008 -
After few years, Dr.ir. Jaap Keijer, a Wageningen University graduate who obtained his PhD in biology from the University of Amsterdam, was appointed in 2008 as professor in Human and Animal Physiology.
He supervised the movement of the chairgroup to the Wageningen University Campus, where the group moved in with other Animal Science chairgroups in the Zodiac building. Prof Keijer is a pioneer in nutrigenomics. He has a fundamental interest in linking molecular metabolic pathways to physiological functions. He describes himself ‘a molecular physiologist with broad biological knowledge, a thorough biochemical and transcriptome expertise, and a liking for in vivo studies across tissues.’
