Projects Science Shop
Here you will find an overview of all projects of the Science Shop of Wageningen University & Research. The projects always fall under one (or more) of the five themes: Food Production of the Future, Nutrition & Health, Green Transitions, Nature Conservation & Ecology, Rural & Urban Environments.
Food Production
Both plant and animal production are changing and evolving in response to current issues (climate change, urbanization, changing diets, etc.), and there are many Science Shop projects that allow pioneers in society to explore ways of producing food that are alternative and innovative.
Nutrition & Health
This theme includes all Science Shop projects that focus on human health, including the effects of food on health.
Green Transitions
Current issues in the world, most notably climate change, require a change in the status quo. Business as usual is not good enough to tackle these problems, so there is a need for new and innovative ways of continuing many endeavors. A green transition is a change towards a more (socially, economically, or environmentally) sustainable process.
Nature & Culture
A healthy planet must have healthy nature. This theme includes Science Shop projects that take care of ecosystems and biodiversity.
Rural & Urban Environments
Many Science Shop projects focus on creating a healthy, sustainable, livable environment. Both rural and urban areas must be observed separately, each presenting their own set of opportunities and challenges.
