Are you the electrical engineer who will keep our installations in top shape?

In the high-tech greenhouses of our experimental farm in Bleiswijk, part of Wageningen University & Research, you play a central role in providing technical support for groundbreaking research. Your work ensures that researchers can fully focus on their experiments. In this versatile role, you have plenty of room for taking initiative and you are closely involved in innovations in a dynamic and international environment. You will work in an innovative workplace with access to a Walhalla of technical equipment, ensuring variety and diversity in your role.

Your tasks and responsibilities as an electrical engineer are:

  • building and installing experimental setups: You are the architect of technical setups in our greenhouse sections;
  • performing installation work: Whether it’s water or electrical installations, you ensure everything works smoothly;
  • preventive and corrective maintenance: You keep our installations in top condition and intervene before problems arise;
  • analyzing and fixing malfunctions: You solve technical challenges as if it’s second nature to you.
The team
As an electrical technician at our dynamic research institute, you will be part of an enthusiastic and experienced team. Together with 5 colleagues, you will be responsible for the technical management of the research facilities such as greenhouses, buildings, labs, and research instruments at the Bleiswijk location.

Your qualities

You are independent and customer-oriented, which makes you proactive and resourceful in providing your services. Additionally, you work with a focus on quality, ensuring that your colleagues can rely on and trust your work.

You also have:

  • technical education at least at MBO+ (vocational) level: With a specialization in measurement and control technology or electrical engineering;
  • affinity with installation and climate control technology: You enjoy working with these technologies;
  • basic knowledge or interest in greenhouse horticulture: A plus, but above all, you must be curious;
  • skills in data and text processing: And a keen eye for detail in written reports;
  • driver's license B: Mobility is a must;
  • knowledge of climate control systems: This is a big plus;
  • fluency in Dutch;
  • flexibility: You are willing to work week and on-call shifts.
In our international working environment there is an increasing amount of communication in English. For this position it is about language level B2.

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between €3.040,- and €4.687,- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 8-9). Additionally, a contract for 32 hours can be discussed.
