Administrative assistant in agriculture or horticulture
Your job
In this role, you will manage financial and sustainability data of agricultural or horticultural companies for the Business Information Network (BIN). As an assistant, you play a supportive role and help our administrative staff deliver a complete economic accounting of an agricultural business, including a sustainability report. This position is interesting as a stepping stone to the role of administrative employee in agriculture or horticulture, or as a part-time job for students pursuing studies in the agricultural or financial-economic domain. The location for this position is: Wageningen, The Hague, Drachten, or Oisterwijk.
The Business Information Network (www.wur.nl/bedrijveninformatienet) is a network of approximately 1,500 agricultural and horticultural companies, 100 cutters and other vessels active in fishing, and 150 forestry companies. Within Wageningen Economic Research, around 65 administrative employees maintain this network.
As an administrative assistant, you will record financial and sustainability data of Dutch agricultural and horticultural companies in our database. Your tasks mainly include entering various technical and financial business data, such as existing sustainable production resources, animal numbers, working hours, invoices from suppliers and customers, processing batch payments, administering loans, etc. You derive this data from central databases, (digital) invoices from suppliers and customers, or information provided by the agricultural entrepreneur.

Your qualities
You have completed an agricultural and/or economic education (MBO) or a Practical Accounting Diploma (PDB). Alternatively, you are currently pursuing a study in the agricultural or financial-economic domain at institutions like HAS or WUR and are looking for a part-time job;
- You have an affinity with or knowledge of the agricultural or horticultural sector;
- You are proficient with computers and preferably have experience with digital accounting systems and/or financial automation processes;
- You possess good communication skills, are helpful and flexible, and can work well independently;
- You work accurately, have an eye for detail, and are numerically proficient;
