Board of SWU Thymos

SWU Thymos is a student-run organisation with the goal to facilitate and stimulate students to engage in sporting activities. The Board of SWU Thymos consists of six students and has a variety of tasks related to student sports in Wageningen. SWU Thymos is the first contact point for students for almost all sports related matters. The board helps students to participate in sport events on all different levels. We also distribute subsidies over the student sports associations and individual athletes in order to make sports accessible for all students.

Aside from organizational tasks, SWU Thymos organizes many events throughout the year. Some notable examples are the Sportsnight, Battle of the Studies and Dance Evening. We also organize smaller one-off events called ‘Experiences’. There are also a variety of tournaments organized each year where teams can register to compete against other and take the top spot. Some are larger tournaments played in a single evening like the Glow in the Dark Dodgeball Tournament or the Ball&Stick Tournament, but we also make sure that students can always participate in the SWU Thymos Internal Competitions (TIC) in knotsball, volleyball, soccer and futsal which takes place throughout the year.

During working hours, there is almost always someone present in the SWU Thymos office in the back of the Bongerd. If you have any sports related questions, come by our office!
