Biobased Products Innovation Plant
The Biobased Products Innovation Plant is a large R&D facility used by Food & Biobased Research scientists to develop innovative processes to convert green raw materials (biomass) into biobased products. Contact us for more detailed questions concerning our R&D facilities.

Research facility for postharvest research and robotics
This facility researches the shelf life of fresh food products and the possibilities for the use of robots in the agri-food sector. In addition, it offers partners the opportunity to attend workshops, classes and meetings or organise their own.

Cool–Research on the move mobile research facilities
With the ‘Cool – Research on the move’ concept, research institutes and companies can now carry out independent research into the quality of local perishables wherever they are in the world. The result: less food waste, greater export opportunities and more jobs. This unique concept is a partnership between Wageningen Food & Biobased Research and Fotein. It combines knowledge and techniques in the field of post-harvest technology into a single mobile research facility.

Cibia - new FoodTech Facility
The new FoodTech Facility 'Cibia' (completed in March 2026) will be the new research facility for scientific fundamental and applied research in the field of food process technology, product composition and consumer studies. In Cibia you will soon find a process technology hall, a (food-grade) application kitchen, facilities for sensory and consumer research and supporting laboratories.
