Your job

In this role, you collect and manage financial and sustainability data from flower bulb companies for the Business Information Network (BIN). You maintain your own portfolio of flower bulb companies and/or another horticultural sector of your choice. You are also responsible for relationship management with these entrepreneurs. Therefore, you work closely with our BIN participants at one of our regional offices: Alkmaar, Dalfsen, The Hague, Drachten, Haaksbergen, Goes, Oisterwijk, Meijel, or Wageningen.

The Business Information Network is a network of approximately 1,500 agriculture and horticulture companies, 100 cutters and other vessels active in the fishing industry, and 150 forestry companies. Within Wageningen Economic Research, around 65 administrative assistants maintain this network. The main tasks and activities as an administrative assistant flower bulbs are:

  • Collecting financial and sustainability data from a fixed group of BIN companies. You gather this data from business administration or digitally (electronic invoices), derive it from economic bookkeeping from the accountant, or by conducting surveys with the entrepreneur. You record the collected data in a database and make it available for fellow researchers.
  • Maintaining relationship management with BIN participants. For the entrepreneur, you prepare an annual report with the business results and the main environmental indicators and create a digital business comparative overview in MijnAgrimatie.nl. During your visit to the entrepreneur, you explain both reports and answer any questions. Simultaneously, you start the data collection for the new year during this conversation. Annually, you also recruit some new participants for the Business Information Network to compensate for natural turnover. For this, you will be on the road about one day a week for a full-time position after your training period.

  • you are numerically proficient, experienced with digital accounting systems and/or financial automation processes, and have a precise working method with an eye for detail.
