What Will You Do?
We, Wageningen Bioveterinary Research (WBVR), are looking for an enthusiastic analyst to join our Virological Serology team. Together with your colleagues, you will conduct diagnostics on large numbers of samples, screening for animal diseases such as bluetongue or avian influenza.
You will work on a variety of tests, including virus neutralization tests (VNTs) and virus isolations. Flexibility is key in this role, as you may also be assigned to other departments within WBVR or asked to assist during animal disease outbreaks.
The work will take place in facilities subject to additional quarantine restrictions upon leaving (based on EU regulations). This means that keeping cloven-hoofed animals is not permitted. Additionally, contact with these animals and poultry production facilities is prohibited for 72 hours after completing your tasks.
Wageningen Bioveterinary Research (WBVR)
The diagnostic laboratories at WBVR in Lelystad are responsible for monitoring and diagnosing notifiable viral and bacterial animal diseases, as well as performing export diagnostics. Quality is central to all diagnostic activities. In addition to performing diagnostics, new tests are developed, implemented, and validated.
An enthusiastic team of highly skilled analysts performs the majority of this work in a high-containment unit.
Your qualities
You:
- Have at least completed an MLO degree.
- Have an enthusiastic, quality-focused, and proactive attitude.
- Are critical of your own work, with quality as a top priority.
- Are resilient under pressure and can remain calm during busy periods or disease outbreaks.
- Are willing to work outside regular office hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Are proficient in Dutch, both spoken and written, as you will need to follow established protocols.
