Dr. Paul van Adrichem 1975 - 1989
Prof. Frens was succeeded in 1975 by Dr. Paul W.M. van Adrichem who was first appointed in as Professor in General Physiology and Production Animal Physiology.
Also in 1975, Dr. Louis M. Schoonhoven, a renowned scientist with publications in Nature and Science was appointed at the same chairgroup as professor in Animal and Comparative Physiology. His appointment changed in 1985, when he left the chairgroup and was appointed as professor in Entomology, especially Insect Physiology. Coinciding with this change, the appointment of Prof. Paul van Adrichem was altered to General Human and Animal Physiology. The chairgroup was flourishing and a new wing was added to the Physiology laboratory, which was opened in 1987. Prof. Paul van Adrichem retired in 1989.
