Transforming sustainable aquaculture by applying circularity principles

A circular economy offers a promising approach to lessen the environmental impact of human activities through improved resource use and waste reduction. Five ecological principles, applied primarily to land-based food systems, have not yet been fully explored in aquaculture. This study adapts these principles to aquaculture, revealing key opportunities to enhance sustainability.
