Prof. Ciarán Forde, Chair of the Sensory Science and Eating Behaviour Chair group visit Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea

“Prof. Ciarán Forde, Chair of the Sensory Science and Eating Behaviour Chair group recently returned from a visit to Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea

Prof. Forde is a visiting Professor at the University and was hosted by Professor Hye-Seong Lee, who leads the Sensory Science Program at Ewha Womans University. Prof. Forde spent time teaching students in the inaugural ‘Sensory-Nutrition’ course at the graduate school (pictured above). In addition, Prof. Forde and Prof. Markus Stieger from the SSEB chair group contributed a Special lecture for the Ewha graduate program in Food Science and Biotechnology on ‘The role of Food Texture and Structure in Sensory Perception, Oral Processing, Energy intake and Metabolism’. Finally, Prof. Forde presented an invited lecture at the 2024 Korean Food Engineering Society Annual meeting in Gangneung on the importance of sensory cues in moderating eating behaviour and food intake. We look forward to growing stronger links and further collaboration with Prof. Lee and her students at Ewha Womans University in the future. “
