Project
Polyester-based Salolastics
The pollution of the environment is global threat. Plastic is accumulating in the oceans, with hazardous effects on animals and humans. The urge to reduce the impact on the environment is pleading. Therefore, we are proposing a novel approach, to synthesis biobased and biodegradable plastic material, which potentially could substitute common plastic materials. Such material doesn’t rely on fossil resources and, even if disposed into the environment, could degrade into benign biobased substances again. We are deploying the unique properties of Saloplastics, which exhibits stable behavior in dry and pure water conditions, but dissolves in sea water and refine it, by introducing additional features.
