Cum laude PhD graduation for Rob de Haas
On Friday January 12th, PCC PhD student Rob de Haas defended his thesis “Exploring protein landscapes: advancing protein nanomaterials with computational precision”. The degree was awarded with the distinction “cum laude”. Rob’s thesis deals with designing new proteins using (among others) artificial intellingence.
This thesis puts forward methods to design protein-based nanomaterials with shapes and function with high precision. Such novel materials have broad applications in material science and medicine. For example as coating agents or as vaccine nanoparticles.
