Transformative area-oriented management in the watersector

Public service organisations, like drinking water companies, increasingly have to navigate between delivering core tasks and contributing to societal and sustainability transitions. This requires more interaction and collaboration with the external environment. Area-oriented management enables organisations to build new and broader partnerships. In my PhD research, I will study how area-oriented management can help to transform existing ways of operating and help to create more societal gain, while also making sure to secure drinking water quality and availability.
