Opening Future of Food Exposition
The future of food may come in different forms. That is both shown by the variety of research we do in Wageningen, as by the photographers of the new outside exhibition on Wageningen Campus. We invite you to get sparked and inspired, to talk and listen, to envision the future and reflect on our work at the opening of this new exhibition. Let’s listen to each other and to the photographer of one ‘future food perspective’ Francesco Rucci.
The new outside exhibition in between Impulse and Zodiac can be approached from two sides. When approaching from one side, Francesco Rucci & Francesco Marinelli showcase emerging food technologies to feed an expanding population in a nutritious and sustainable manner. Innovation is key to them, though rooted and grounded in local history, connecting nature and technology. Josefin Vargö’s work is shown on the other side of the frames and helps you to slow down and come closer to the food we eat. Her work enables you to reflect on your daily food habits and the ingredients you often taste and digest.
We’re curious to hear what images appeal to you. The images might help you to reflect on your views and habits and to open up to other visions. Maybe we’re depicting a false dichotomy. Because the only thing we truly know, is that there is not one future of food.
So let’s get sparked and inspired, let’s talk and listen, let’s envision the future and reflect on our work. The opening takes place on 19 January, 14:30-15:30 in Impulse. The exhibition remains visible for approximately 3 months and is part of the ‘Good’ Food Dialogues, with the aim to stimulate good conversations about our responsibility for healthier and more sustainable diets.
