Samenvatting

This file contains modeling outputs generated using a modified version of the global aerosol-climate model ECHAM6.3-HAM2.3. The simulations focus on aerosols originating from biomass burning over the boreal region (>55°N) and cover both the current period (2000–2021) and future projections. The data provide annual summer (June–August) seasonal averages for each year within these periods. The future scenario simulations assume a global warming level of 1°C above present-day temperatures, which results in higher biomass burning emissions in the boreal region. These future simulations are driven by projected biomass burning emissions that remain constant, with meteorological fields nudged to the 2000-2020 period to account for the impacts of transport conditions. The following aerosol-related variables are provided: od550er: Aerosol optical depth at a wavelength of 550 nm abs550aer: Absorption aerosol optical depth at 550 nm ERE: Effective radiative effect (all-sky condition) at the top of the atmosphere (TOA) ARI: Radiative effect due to aerosol-radiation interaction ACI: Radiative effect due to aerosol-cloud interaction In addition, the code for creating the main plots in the paper is accompanied, which is a simplified version and can be carried out differently.
