Samenvatting

Sustainability is taking a more prominent place in greenhouse horticulture, where reducing fossil fuels andenvironmentally friendly cultivation methods are becoming increasingly crucial. In chrysanthemum cultivation, the soil is traditionally steamed to keep it free of diseases and pests. This uses a lot of energy, which prompted a search for innovative alternatives for steam-free chrysanthemum cultivation. This report provides clarity about the potential of optimized spectrum composition of LED lighting and adapted press pot compositions during the rooting phase to increase the plant resilience of chrysanthemums. The experiments showed that press pot and LED light composition had an effect on the resistance to Pythium. However, the results were not always consistent. Directly sticking the cuttings in the ground had a negative effect on the occurrence of Verticillium.- The results were not consistent for the other diseases and pests.
