Samenvatting

In an intensively used agricultural landscape, roadsides can be ecological capillaries for the conservation of biodiversity. What is the current status of ecological roadside management, as carried out along infrastructure (roads, canals, dikes) managed by provinces, municipalities, water boards, Rijkswaterstaat, Rijksvastgoedbedrijf and ProRail? By means of a literature study and interviews, an analysis was made of the biodiversity in roadside verges, the pros and cons of a standard for ecological verge management and for model contracts.
