In my current research, I aim to address two main themes in livestock genomics. The first theme centers on unravelling the landscape of structural variation within livestock populations, facilitated by the creation of pangenomes. The second theme focuses on mutation impact prediction to identify deleterious and functional variants in livestock populations through approaches such as GWAS, haplotype analysis, and mutation impact prediction tools like CADD and FAETH.  Both theme’s are at the core of unravelling the genotype-2-phenotype gap in animals.

I have a background in Bioinformatics (BSc, and MSc), specialised in analysing and integrating different types of ~omics data (genomics, transcriptomics, and epigenomics), population genetics, and deleterious genetic variation. Moreover, I have extensive experience in comparative genomics, genome assembly and genome annotation.
