Wageningen Impact Catalyst

The Wageningen Impact Catalyst programme provides financial support, knowledge and guidance to promote entrepreneurship within Wageningen University & Research (WUR). In this way, innovative ideas are nurtured and accelerated into successful businesses and social initiatives that address global challenges in food, agriculture and the living environment.

We are looking for partners!

It is a challenge for startups to get financial support, even though money is crucial to develop their ideas into business models and prototypes and gain the necessary knowledge. Without support, therefore, many startups don't survive.

Are you interested in supporting these entrepreneurs together with us or do you have interested parties in your network? Please contact Lies Boelrijk to discuss the possibilities.

Our urgency

With the increasing complexity and urgency of global problems, it is
more important than ever to connect WUR's scientific insights with innovative startups. Startups are agile and can therefore significantly accelerate sustainable food systems, resilient ecosystems and a circular society.

To help these startups, we offer mentoring and skills development programmes from the Wageningen Impact Catalyst programme and raise funds for young (student) entrepreneurs from WUR. In this way, we help them through various stages of development, from stimulating innovative ideas to prototyping, developing a proposition and quantifying impact.

Collaboration

The Wageningen Impact Catalyst is an initiative of Wageningen University & Research supported by University Fund Wageningen and a number of highly committed alumni.

We collaborate with strategic partners in our ecosystem, such as KplusV, StartGreen, Noorderwind and FoodvalleyNL. Together, we strengthen our impact and foster an innovation ecosystem where knowledge, finance, entrepreneurship and practice come together. Our diverse community enables us to deliver solutions in the Netherlands, Europe and beyond.

Do you want to collaborate for sustainable entrepreneurship?

It is often challenging for starting entrepreneurs to get financial support. Obtaining a loan can be difficult and new initiatives often do not yet attract investor interest. University Fund Wageningen aims to promote the Wageningen Impact Catalyst programme by raising (substantial) donations.

Financial support is crucial in the incubation phase to develop business models, create prototypes and gain knowledge. By opening your networks to them, you can help (student) entrepreneurs develop solutions that contribute to sustainable change worldwide.
