Are you a coaching team leader who knows how to ensure the continuity of the organization, put the organization on the map and connect with both internal and external developments? Wageningen Pre-University  (WPU) and Wetenschapsknooppunt  (WKWU) team are looking for a committed and enthusiastic team leader. You have a relevant network, preferably also within Wageningen University & Research, and know how to use it to inspire content and strengthen partnerships. In addition to your role as team leader, you are also active within projects. One of the tasks of the team leader is the program leadership of the 4TU.VO education program. Among other things, this collaborative program between the four technical universities is building an online education platform that provides teaching modules that connect school subjects, train skills and inspire for the world of research and design.

Wageningen Pre-University
Wageningen Pre-University, involves havo/vwo students and teachers in what is happening in the scientific world of Life Sciences. We work on teacher professionalization, curriculum innovation and a good connection for students between secondary and higher education in the domains of Wageningen University. We do this together with the regional network of institutes within secondary and higher education in the Food Valley region.

Wetenschapsknooppunt
WKWU is a collaboration between Wageningen University & Research and the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede and introduces children to science. WKWU brings science to the classroom and invites school children and (prospective) teachers to the university.

The team leader is responsible for:

  • the financial health of the department, including day-to-day administration, multi-year planning and budgeting, with accountability to the Dean of Education and support from the Finance and HR Officer and the Finance & Control Department;
  • working with your fellow team leader to keep the department's vision and strategy up to date and evaluating and monitoring quality;
  • acquiring external projects and setting up and participating in collaborations with educational and governmental organizations;
  • developing the programs of 4TU.VO, the WKWU and Pre-University;
  • the internal policy coordination within WUR in the field of affiliation.

Your qualities

The candidate we are looking for has:

  • academic (master) level of thought and work;
  • demonstrable experience with Wageningen disciplines e.g. sustainability, in higher education and/or primary education and preferably a relevant network in these sectors or the ability to build a relevant network in the foreseeable future;
  • experience in financial management;
  • demonstrable experience in leading a team;
  • an excellent command of the Dutch language in both speaking and writing.

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between € 5.441 en max. € 6.986 for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 12). Initially, we offer you a one-year contract for 0.5 fte. This contract will be extended to an open-ended contract if there is mutual enthusiasm and unchanged situation. You are appointed in the position as program director for a duration of 5 years, after these 5 years you can either be re-appointed or you’re expected to move to another position within Wageningen University & Research.
