Project Leader for Knowledge Transfer at Agro-Innovation Center
Your job
As a project leader at Agro-Innovation Center De Marke, you will contribute to developing innovative practical solutions for the agricultural sector. The focus areas include circular, nature-inclusive, precision agriculture, climate, and livestock farming. Within the Agro-Innovation Center De Marke team, you will be responsible for knowledge transfer.
This role involves a high degree of responsibility and autonomy while also requiring close collaboration with colleagues and project partners. You will be challenged to think beyond your own field of expertise.
Your tasks and responsibilities as project leader include:- Organizing and conducting knowledge sessions, workshops, and study group meetings, primarily for dairy farmers. Independently analyzing data to support these meetings is crucial.
- Acquiring new opportunities for knowledge sessions, workshops, study group meetings, and projects. This will be done in consultation and collaboration with regional partners (such as VK-Oost), businesses, government, colleagues from Wageningen Livestock Research, and researchers from other disciplines both within and outside WUR.
- Implementing projects, focusing mainly on co-developing knowledge with practitioners, analyzing data for knowledge transfer, and sharing information.
- Presenting research findings and conducting tours for students, farmers, businesses, government agencies, and fellow researchers.
You will work with a small and dedicated team of approximately eight colleagues at Agro-Innovation Center De Marke in Hengelo, Gelderland. In close cooperation with researchers from Wageningen University & Research and a wide range of partners, projects are developed, executed, and knowledge is shared.
About De Marke
Agro-Innovation Center De Marke is Wageningen University & Research's dairy research farm in Hengelo (Gelderland). Evolving from a project site for systems research, De Marke is increasingly becoming a (regional) agro-innovation center focusing on innovations and addressing current knowledge questions in circular, nature-inclusive, precision agriculture, and climate.
The knowledge developed at De Marke is crucial for the Achterhoek region and, more broadly, for dairy farming and agriculture on sandy soils. Knowledge is developed and shared with farmers (e.g., through the association Vruchtbare Kringloop Oost), policymakers, businesses, educators, and the region as a whole.
Your qualities
You are a professional with excellent communication skills, both oral and written. You are a good listener, analyst, and critical thinker. You bridge the gap between research and practice, with experience in project-based organizations or as a researcher or project leader. You focus on quality, work results-oriented, and excel at planning. A true team player, you collaborate enthusiastically to achieve shared goals.
You also have:
- A completed bachelor's degree (HBO level).
- Extensive experience in knowledge transfer with farmers.
- Affinity with and experience in dairy farming and arable farming.
- A practical interest in and active involvement with the objectives and work at our agro-innovation center.
- Strong command of Dutch and English.
