Lighthouse Farm Academy participant Cedric Petitpas
Founder of Food Systems advisory firm Green Bambinos, Cedric Petitpas, realised the importance of understanding food systems while considering opening a restaurant, which led him to the Lighthouse Farm Academy. The academy's academic rigour, farm experience, and expert network guided his next steps in impact-driven work.
After 20 years in global media and tech, including a decade at Google and YouTube, I sought a new challenge focused on the climate crisis. My interest in food and hospitality led me to the Lighthouse Farm Academy (LHFA), where I aimed to explore sustainable food systems.
At LHFA, I learned that regenerative agriculture doesn’t fit traditional business models; each farm operates within its unique context. The emphasis on resilience over scale is crucial, especially given climate-induced uncertainties. A visit to an Austrian Lighthouse Farm highlighted how regenerative practices can effectively absorb floodwaters, illustrating the benefits of healthy soil.
The Academy also connected me with a diverse network of professionals, enriching my understanding of collaborative opportunities. This experience reshaped my perspective on business models that can benefit farmers and consumers alike.
I look forward to continuing my involvement with LHFA and seeing the alumni network grow. The Academy exceeded my expectations, providing the tools and inspiration to make a lasting impact in the future of food.
