Student Ineke - Master Food Law and Regulatory Affairs

I am Ineke, a South African studying at the University of Wageningen. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Food Science at the University of Stellenbosch in 2019.

After which I worked as a regulatory consult for the food industry where I was inspired to pursue a Master’s degree in Food Science with the Master's Food Law and Regulatory Affairs.

In my experience, students attending on campus make special effort to include online students and are always willing to lend a helping hand where necessary.

The access to University of Wageningen’s online platform made it possible for me to start my studies from South Africa during the Covid-19 lockdown. I am privileged to study at this renowned university. The University offers a wide selection of courses that are unique and challenging.

I am currently completing my first year of a two year master’s degree and have completed several classes.

During this time, the lecturers and university went out of their way to ensure that all online lectures, materials and exams were accessible to me. The lectures are of high quality and are set up in such a way to ensure active engagement during class. Ample opportunities for discussions and questions are provided. Group work is also common and has allowed me to get to know many of my fellow students. In instances where I required a little extra assistance, the lecturers have always been willing to set up a meeting over Teams.

I have been able to build relationships with my fellow students. In my experience, students attending on campus make special effort to include online students and are always willing to lend a helping hand where necessary.

I look forward to what the future courses hold and hope that I will soon be able to meet my colleagues in Wageningen.
