French 4 (face-to-face)
Do you want to learn French for your internship, study or work in France and are you already reasonably proficient in French grammar? Are you looking to deepen this knowledge and improve your French communication skills? The online course French 4 will help you to better understand and speak French.
Target group
French 4 is for anyone who has taken 3 to 4 years of French at middle school and who has since been in contact with the French language to some degree, whether through a course or spending some time in a French-speaking country. This course is also intended for anyone who has completed our course French 3. The maximum number of participants per group is 16.
Course level
Entry level: A2 (CEFR)
Level on completion: halfway to B1 (CEFR)
Course content
After this course, you will be able to:
- hold simple conversations about familiar topics;
- understand the key information in simple texts;
- formulate your personal opinion in a simple way;
- write texts and emails about familiar topics.
The emphasis is on speaking skills. Reading, listening, and writing skills will also be addressed. You will also learn more about French culture.

- The difference between the passé composé and the imparfait

- Giving a substantiated opinion
- Indirect questions
- Passive sentences
- Indirect speech
- The subjonctif
- The pronoun EN
Planning
This course includes 8 classes, one per week. Each class is 1 hour and 45 minutes. You should expect to spend 2 to 3 hours on homework each week. French is primarily spoken during classes, with Dutch and English as supporting languages.

Certification and exam
To receive a Wageningen in'to Languages certificate, a minimum attendance of 80% is required. A diagnostic test is optional.
