Collective action and the State: The politics of post-disaster reconstruction and disaster risk management
This PhD research investigates how local collective actors perceive the processes of interaction with the state around post-disaster reconstruction and disaster risk management, and the social and institutional transformations this may produce.
The study looks at the cases of four Central American countries (Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua), in the aftermath of hurricane Mitch.
