This year we celebrate our 100th anniversary of ‘plantenveredeling’. All types of events are presented this year. There was an international Plantendag on 18 May where Plant Breeding was well presented.
On 31 August there will be an Open Day for staff, students, alumni, former employees and businesses that have a connection with plant breeding. You are all welcome to celebrate the anniversary on this day with us if you have (had) any connection with Plant Breeding.
From 11 until 14 November Plant Breeding organises an international conference
At the 100th anniversary of Plant Breeding in Wageningen, the science of breeding has highly contributed to higher and stable crop yields world-wide. The challenge of providing a growing world population with food, feed and fuel however requires the breeding society to take even bigger steps. The Next Generation Plant Breeders will need to utilize new technologies and techniques, and make optimal use of the enormous amounts of genotypic and phenotypic data produced by Next Generation technologies. At its centennial birthday Wageningen UR Plant Breeding invites you to participate in a conference that explores novel and exciting opportunities for crop improvement for the Next Generation of Plant Breeders.
