Engage Young People Towards Climate and Social Resilience [French]
Without appropriate responses, the effects of climate change are likely to hamper economic development and poverty reduction efforts. The Sahelian, North and West African and Central African countries, with their economies rooted in climate-sensitive sectors such as agriculture, fishing and forestry, are highly exposed. In addition to climate change, these countries are also facing rapid growth in the number of young people and increasing insecurity. These are certainly not isolated phenomena: they feed each other.
