Aquaculture: fish farming
News, background information and research results from Wageningen University & Research about national and international fish farming (aquaculture).
The controlled production of fish experiences a tremendous growth due to the growing international demand for food. Wageningen University & Research explores ways to make aquaculture more sustainable and profitable. Our research expertise covers a wide range of topics i.e. from breeding and reproduction, to nutrition, water quality, stunning, and macro-economics. We work with different production systems, and with both fresh water and salt water species.
Fish farming is part of the broader concept aquaculture.
