Onderhoud mest- en ammoniakmodellen
In this project, various activities are clustered with regard to models that have been developed to provide the government with information. This concerns the modelling of the distribution of manure, emissions of ammonia and greenhouse gases and leaching of nitrogen and phosphorus to groundwater and surface water.
In this project activities are clustered regarding models that have been developed to provide the national government with information about the evaluation of the manure policy. In addition, the models are used by local authorities and other organizations to answer specific questions. By including the maintenance of models in one project, there is a better overview of the required maintenance of the models and the budget can be used flexibly based on the set priorities. In addition, it contributes to substantive coordination between different models.
This concerns several models: LWKM and WOG-WOD, NEMA and INITIATOR. LWKM is used to calculate area-wide nitrate concentrations in water leaching from the root zone and the nitrogen and phosphorus load on surface water from agricultural and natural land and with WOG-WOD the nitrogen application standards are determined. NEMA and INITIATOR are used to calculate the spatial distribution of national ammonia emissions.
This project focuses on the first two models for effects on water quality (LWKM and WOG-WOD). These models will be used for the evaluation of future manure policy and therefore it is important that these models are up-to-date.
