Modelinstrumentarium toelating Gewasbeschermingsmiddelen
The Board for the Authorization of Plant Protection Products and Biocides (Ctgb) needs a set of instruments to be able to assess the authorization of plant protection products. This concerns: leaching to groundwater, persistence in the construction industry and exposure in surface water. The models of this set of instruments must be continuously available via the internet and must be able to be used by industry and government without any problems.
The model applications FOCUSTOXSWA, FOCUSSWASH, DRAINBOW, DROPLET, FOCUSPEARL, GeoPEARL, GEM, the supporting applications SWASH (for FOCUS Surface water) and SPIN (application with dust data) and the application Groundwater Atlas (monitoring data groundwater) are required for this. The (model) applications must be continuously available via the internet and must be easy to use without any problems.
Various activities are carried out under the project:
- Continuous user support throughout the year;
- Maintenance of the pesticidemodels.eu website;
- Quality assurance of FOCUSTOXSWA, FOCUSSWASH, DRAINBOW, DROPLET, GeoPEARL, FOCUSPEARL, PEARL_NEQ, the Groundwater Atlas, GEM and SPIN;
- Keeping the instruments up-to-date with regard to the description of the processes that determine the behavior of plant protection products in the soil and surface water;
- Making bug fixes of the software products if necessary;
- Creating manuals for using the software.
The result of the project is:
- User support via the Helpdesk, but also via the pesticidemodels.eu website
- Documentation of the concepts of the TOXSWA and PEARL models;
- Demonstrable good quality of the supplied software packages.
