Project
Integrated biomonitoring to assist sustainable land use transitions
We aim to develop a modular scheme of integrated innovative monitoring tools, including citizen science, drone technology and remote sensing, AI-based automated image recognition and (e)DNA metabarcoding, that together allow detailed evidence-based bio- and environmental monitoring of agro-ecosystems.
We will focus on food forests as they are promising in terms of food provision and other ecosystem services, as well as nature conservation and climate adaptivity. This project will create results and datasets from several innovative monitoring techniques that will be presented in a dashboard to provide a complementary and holistic vision of functional biodiversity.
