Agriloop
Partners conduct research into the potentials of extraction and fermentative production of high-quality components (proteins and biopolymers) from biocomposites. Based on this, WUR develops heuristics on the potential of this production from biobased raw materials. This will be elaborated in a database focused on potentials of biocomposites.
Concrete goal for WUR is to further develop knowledge on residual streams and their possible valorisation (new safe and vegetable protein sources for food and feed, as well as biobased production potential). Knowledge gathered in Knowledge Base Research (KB-40 Circular) and Policy Research (Circularity Indicator), among others, will be further developed. Besides biobased potential of non-passable use of biobased raw materials, opportunities in alternative applications are elaborated in AgriLoop.
This knowledge contributes to a better quantitative understanding of production potential, e.g. for the protein strategy.
