Education of Nematology

Towards the end of the BSc and MSc curriculum, every student will perform a thesis project within Wageningen University. Within the research themes soil health, plant health and human & animal health we offer exciting projects for students. Students will join PhD and/or postdoc projects and will use state-of-the-art techniques to address their research questions. Each topic lends itself for a BSc or MSc thesis.

The MSc curriculum includes an internship, a learning period during wherein the relationship with professional practice is emphasized. This means that the internship is carried out outside Wageningen University. Nematology has a wide global network of host institutes where students can perform their internship project and we are always happy to help students with establishing contact with host institutes outside our own network.

• We organise small experiments for primary school children
• We organise practical courses for secondary schools (travelling DNA labs)
• We contribute to 31 courses at Wageningen University, of which we coordinate 12
• Yearly we supervise over 50 students in their BSc or MSc theses and internships
• We have developed thesis rings with Educational Staff Development
• A significant proportion of our students continue their career as PhD student or as researcher within a company
• We offer online learning modules and training courses for professionals
• We invest in educational development and innovation
