Summary

The Soil Map of the Netherlands, the Geomorphological Map of the Netherlands and the Water Table Depth Model are base maps for describing the natural system in the Netherlands. Hydrophysical data are essential for modelling water flow in soils. In 2023 these maps and data were updated for the Raam catchment, which is in the management area of the Aa en Maas regional water authority (province of Noord-Brabant). A new method was used in which field work and mapping were combined in one area and digital soil mapping techniques were used. This is an efficient method that produces maps of high quality. The maps and data have been included in the National Key Registry of the Subsurface (BRO) and are available to users via the BROloket and bodemdata.nl portals.
