However, inconsistent government policies, high regulatory pressure, and narrow profit margins hinder their level of ambition. Successful sustainability efforts require strong internal integration of strategies, supply chain collaboration, and clear policy frameworks. Despite challenges, supply chain actors demonstrate energy to accelerate sustainability through ‘coalitions of the willing.’ These initiatives can not only reduce resistance but also encourage the government to adopt supportive and facilitative policies.
